Cost breakdown of website development pricing tiers for businesses in Hyderabad, India, 2026

Website development cost in Hyderabad in 2026 runs from about ₹25,000 for a template-based five-pager to ₹25,00,000 for a custom web platform. Most businesses that want a real, editable site land between ₹1,20,000 and ₹4,50,000, roughly $1,400 to $5,200, delivered in four to eight weeks.

Those are the bands DevXAI Technologies quotes from Hyderabad, and they line up with what we see on shortlists alongside the studios in Madhapur and Gachibowli. The spread is scope, and scope is four things: page count, whether the design is drawn or bought, how many systems the site must talk to, and who writes the words.

Below: the four tiers with real numbers, what moves a quote, the costs that surface in month three, and the twelve lines a quote must itemise.

The short answer

TierWhat it includesPrice band, excluding GSTTimeline
Brochure site5–7 pages, theme design, form₹25,000–₹80,0002–3 weeks
Business site with CMS10–20 pages, custom design, CMS, SEO₹1,20,000–₹4,50,0004–8 weeks
EcommerceShopify or WooCommerce, gateway, GST₹1,50,000–₹6,00,0006–12 weeks
Custom web platformLogins, roles, dashboards, workflows₹5,00,000–₹25,00,0003–7 months
Running cost, yearlyDomain, hosting, backups, updates₹15,000–₹1,80,000Ongoing

Add 18% GST to every figure on this page. A ₹2,00,000 quote is a ₹2,36,000 cheque.

The four tiers behind website development cost in Hyderabad

₹25,000 to ₹80,000 buys five to seven pages on a purchased theme with your logo, a form and a map embed. The design is not exclusively yours, and the layout resists anything the theme author did not anticipate. Fair trade for a dental clinic in Kondapur. What you are paying for is setup time.

₹1,20,000 to ₹4,50,000 is where most SME and B2B work in Hyderabad sits. The design is drawn for your business and a non-technical colleague can edit it without raising a ticket. Anything below ₹1,20,000 promising a fully custom design is either using a theme and not saying so, or is about to run out of budget at page six.

  • Wireframes and design for every distinct page type
  • A CMS your marketing person can use, with preview before publish
  • Mobile-first build tested on a real budget Android handset
  • Core Web Vitals passing on 4G, stated as a contract target
  • Schema, sitemap, redirects from old URLs, and forms routed to your CRM or WhatsApp
  • 30 to 60 days of post-launch bug fixes at no extra cost

Ecommerce splits by platform. Shopify with a premium theme and Indian payment and shipping apps lands at ₹1,50,000 to ₹3,50,000. WooCommerce costs less in licences and more in engineering: ₹1,80,000 to ₹6,00,000. A custom storefront starts near ₹8,00,000, justified only when catalogue logic or B2B pricing breaks the platform, as the guide to ecommerce website development in India sets out.

Above ₹5,00,000 you stop buying a website. Logins, roles, approval workflows and reporting are software, priced by engineering months rather than page count. Anyone quoting ₹1,50,000 for that has not read the requirement. It sits in web platform engineering and is estimated from a specification.

What actually moves the number

Two honest quotes for "a company website" can differ by ₹3,00,000. Here is how a ₹2,00,000 baseline grows, using the increments in our own estimates.

FactorWhat it addsWhy
Custom design instead of a theme₹40,000–₹1,50,000Wireframes, review rounds, a system that holds at page 11
Every page past 12₹6,000–₹12,000 eachNew layout, content, QA on three breakpoints
Content writing₹3,000–₹8,000 per pageNever the developer's job
Photography or video₹25,000–₹1,50,000 per dayStock images look like every competitor
Telugu or Hindi second language25–40% of build costTranslation, line-height, duplicate URLs
CRM, ERP or Tally integration₹50,000–₹3,00,000Field mapping, auth, errors, sandbox
Payment gateway and UPI₹40,000–₹1,20,000Checkout, webhooks, refunds, reconciliation
SEO groundwork during the build₹35,000–₹90,000Keyword-to-URL map, schema, redirects
Accessibility and performance budget₹30,000–₹80,000Contrast, focus states, image pipeline

Several of those lines are specific to India and would be priced differently for a US audience. Most of your traffic arrives on a sub-₹15,000 Android phone on a congested 4G cell, not on a MacBook in the Financial District. A hero video that feels effortless on fibre in HITEC City is why a visitor in Warangal gives up before your headline finishes painting.

  • Test on a real entry-level Android device before sign-off
  • Hold the landing route under 300KB transferred before images
  • Make phone number the primary form field, because Indian buyers give a number faster than an address
  • Put UPI intent first at checkout, cards second, netbanking third, as in this walkthrough of UPI payment gateway integration
  • Treat interface and content as one line, because product design that stops at a homepage mockup is where scope creep starts

GST on services18% of the invoiceOn the build, the AMC and the hosting

GST changes the real cost depending on who you are. Software and IT services in India are taxed at 18%. A registered business claims it back as input tax credit, so its effective cost is the base figure. A proprietor below the threshold absorbs it, and ₹21,600 on a ₹1,20,000 build belongs in the budget. Establish whether a quote is inclusive or exclusive before comparing. This is not legal or tax advice, so confirm the current position with your CA.

Maintenance is the line most buyers strike out and most regret. An unpatched site is a liability. Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you are the data fiduciary for whatever a form on your site collects, and the obligation stays with you even when a vendor runs the server. A real care plan puts that responsibility in writing.

  • Updates on a stated cadence, with a tested rollback path
  • Daily offsite backups you can restore yourself
  • Uptime monitoring with a named person on call in IST hours
  • Fixed change hours per month, and the rate beyond them
  • Security patching within a defined window after disclosure

Freelancer, agency or in-house

The same brief produces very different invoices depending on who executes it, and the cheapest correct answer is not always the agency.

OptionRealistic costWorks whenBreaks when
Freelancer₹15,000–₹1,50,000Scope is small and you can specify itThey take a bigger client, or you need design and code at once
Studio, 5–20 people₹1,20,000–₹8,00,000Design, build and content need coordinatingYour scope really is five pages
Agency, 50+ people₹6,00,000–₹40,00,000Multi-market brand work, procurementUnder ₹5,00,000 you get the junior bench
In-house team₹1,20,000–₹3,00,000 monthly for twoThe site is the product, shipping weeklyIt changes twice a year, funding idle capacity

Here is the part agencies leave off the pricing page. If what you need is five pages, a contact form and a map, do not hire an agency. Hire a good freelancer for ₹30,000, or buy a ₹6,000 theme and pay someone ₹20,000 to set it up. An agency has to cover a project manager, a designer, a developer, a QA pass and a director's attention. On a five-page site that overhead is most of the invoice, and you get a five-page site either way. Agencies earn their fee when the work has real integrations or real consequences for being wrong.

Geography moves the number too. On the shortlists clients show us, Chennai and Pune land close to Hyderabad rates, and capable teams in Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam come in under them. If you are buying from India for a US or European brand, the overlap window matters more than the rate: an IST team covers the UK working day and the US East Coast morning only when that overlap is written into the contract.

  • Open the last three sites they shipped on your own phone
  • Ask which named person writes your code, and what else they are on
  • Ask about a project that went wrong, and judge how specific the answer is
  • Verify GST registration and the CIN before releasing any advance
  • Agree the handover list before the first payment leaves your account

More of that due diligence is in the guide to choosing a software development company in Hyderabad.

How to read a quote before you sign it

A quote that fits on half a page is unfinished. Every line it leaves out becomes a change request, priced after you are committed. Insist on twelve items.

  1. Page count broken out by template type, with each type named
  2. Design rounds included, and the cost of one more
  3. Who writes the content, and how many pages are covered
  4. Which CMS, and what your team can edit without a developer
  5. Named integrations: Razorpay, Zoho, WhatsApp Business API, Tally
  6. The test matrix, including one low-end Android phone
  7. A performance target as a number, and the tool measuring it
  8. SEO scope: schema and redirects only, or an ongoing content programme
  9. Hosting: whose account, whose card, whose problem at 2am
  10. Support days, and what counts as a bug rather than a change
  11. Ownership of code, design files, domain and analytics, in whose name
  12. Whether the total includes or excludes 18% GST

Push back on stack choices too. If a quote proposes a headless build, a JavaScript front end with a separate CMS, and your content team is one non-technical executive, ask what it buys you. Headless earns its keep on sites with thousands of pages or a content team of ten. On a 15-page site edited twice a month it adds a build step, a second vendor bill and a class of failure your editor cannot diagnose. A well-configured WordPress install is often the better engineering decision, and picking the harder stack because it sounds current turns a ₹2,00,000 site into a ₹5,00,000 one.

Then compare the itemisation first and the total second. A ₹2,80,000 quote with all twelve lines specified usually ends up cheaper than a ₹1,60,000 quote reading "dynamic website with admin panel", which earns the difference back in change requests. Ask each vendor to walk you through their process and watch which one talks about review gates rather than speed.

Milestones, ownership and what you hold at the end

Payment structure is risk allocation, and neither side should carry all of it. On a first engagement, a four-stage split keeps everyone honest.

  1. 25% on signing, against a scope document both sides signed
  2. 25% on design approval covering every page type, homepage included
  3. 30% when the staging build is open for your review
  4. 20% on go-live and full handover

Refuse 50% upfront on a first project, and refuse to withhold everything until launch: a vendor financing three months of engineering staffs it with whoever is cheapest. Above ₹5,00,000, hold back 5% to 10% against a 30-day post-launch window. If your vendor is a registered MSME under Udyam, Indian law limits how long a buyer may take to pay them, so check the current rule before writing 90-day terms into a contract.

Ownership is where the real damage happens, and it is rarely malice. Four accounts must exist in your company's name from day one: the domain registrar, the hosting account, Google Analytics and Search Console, and the payment gateway. At handover you should receive the Git repository, editable design files, every admin credential, and a list of every third-party service with its renewal date. A vendor who registers your domain under their own account is usually just being sloppy. It becomes your problem the day you switch. That handover pattern runs through the projects we have shipped.

Frequently asked questions

What is the average website development cost in Hyderabad in 2026?

Most business websites quoted in Hyderabad in 2026 fall between ₹1,20,000 and ₹4,50,000 before GST, for a custom-designed site of 10 to 20 pages with a CMS. Template five-pagers start near ₹25,000, and custom platforms with logins begin around ₹5,00,000. Add 18% GST, plus ₹15,000 to ₹1,80,000 a year to keep it running.

Is a Hyderabad agency cheaper than one in Bengaluru or Mumbai?

Usually, yes. In the bids we win and lose against them, identical scope quoted in Bengaluru or Mumbai lands 15% to 30% above Hyderabad, because office and salary costs differ. Judge a shortlist on shipped work and on how specific the estimate is, not on the city in the letterhead.

Do I have to pay GST on website development in India?

Yes. Software and IT services in India carry 18% GST, on the build, the maintenance contract and the hosting. GST-registered businesses recover it as input tax credit, so their effective cost stays at the base figure. Unregistered proprietors absorb it fully. Ask whether a quote is inclusive or exclusive before comparing two.

How much should I budget for maintenance every year?

Budget 12% to 20% of the build cost annually. On a ₹2,00,000 site that is ₹24,000 to ₹40,000 a year, covering updates, backups, uptime monitoring and a small pool of change hours. Add domain, hosting and email separately. Skipping maintenance saves money for eleven months, then costs more than it saved.

Can I get a decent website for ₹15,000?

You can get a working one. At ₹15,000 you are buying a theme, your logo dropped in and a handful of pages, which is genuinely enough for a new local service business testing demand. What you are not buying is custom design, integrations, content or support. Treat it as a twelve-month placeholder, not a foundation.

What to do this week

Write a one-page brief before contacting anyone: the pages you need, the systems the site must connect to, who edits content after launch, your launch date and your ceiling in rupees. Send that page to three vendors. The quotes become comparable, and the vendor who asks the sharpest questions is usually the one to pick.

  • Confirm who owns your domain and analytics accounts today
  • Itemise every quote against the twelve-line checklist above
  • Insist GST, hosting and maintenance appear as separate figures

If you would rather start from a costed scope than a blank page, send the brief across and an itemised estimate comes back in one working day.
